Creation of material data sheets from external system data
Leading material and recycling compliance platform for a corporation
This application is being developed as a leading material and recycling compliance platform for a corporate group. Its main functions are the approval of material data sheets, the analysis of mass data, data generation for compliance and type approval reporting, the management of analysis rules, and the display of compliance status.
Herausforderung
The initial situation had been classified as alarming by an IT health check. This had revealed that two important core systems were no longer maintainable in their current form. Increasing legal and technical requirements underscored the need for a new development. Due to the high level of synergy between these two systems, they were to be merged into a single software solution in the future.
The project was complex and required precise planning. Not only did we have to implement new functionalities, we also had to ensure that all existing data could be synchronized and processed in an optimized manner in the future.
Another critical point was the planned efficient integration of data from the external IMDS system. A solution had to be developed that enabled the automated release of data sheets.

Methods
To successfully overcome these challenges, we conducted agile consulting and a comprehensive requirements analysis in advance. This included systematic stakeholder management, which helped us understand the specific needs of all parties involved. With this solid foundation, we were then able to develop precise and targeted solutions that met the high requirements for performance and future scalability.
Solution
The developed software combines a powerful Spring Boot backend with a user-friendly React frontend and is deployed on Azure within a Kubernetes cluster. This modern technology stack not only ensures high performance, but also provides a scalable solution for the future. The software reads data from the existing IMDS system, processes it, and presents it in the form of comprehensive material data sheets.
A particularly valuable aspect of our solution is automated data sharing. By implementing automated processes, the customer can now provide data sheets faster and with greater accuracy. In addition, combining the two previously separate systems into a new, integrated solution simplifies workflows and contributes to better decision-making. The entire process is supported by optimized data management, which benefits employees and increases the efficiency of the organization in the long term.
