Since 2021, we have been voluntarily reporting in accordance with the German Sustainability Code. Our latest sustainability report for 2024 has now been confirmed and published by the German Council for Sustainable Development.
1. What is the German Sustainability Code
The German Sustainability Code is an international reporting standard for sustainability aspects that was adopted by the German Council for Sustainable Development in 2011. Its aim is to promote the concept of sustainability in business.
The sustainability report includes an annual review and forms the basis for future target achievement. At the same time, we report on the achievement of the previous year’s targets.
2. The 4 Sustainability Aspects at BREDEX
Sustainability is one of the core components of our corporate strategy. We are convinced of the high relevance of sustainable action in the economic environment. That is why we do not want to slacken in our efforts.
We focus on four strategic aspects:
- Responsible corporate governance, innovation, and digital transformation
- Employee orientation and health
- Responsibility for the environment
- Social commitment
3. Some of Our Initiatives and Successes in 2024
- Enhancing our expertise and providing targeted advice on the digitalization of public contracting authorities, e.g., to reduce processing times in individual offices and thus conserve resources
- Individual learning goals and paths for our employees for tailor-made qualifications
- Continued support for Jobrad, Deutschlandticket, and joint sporting events
- Continuation of long-standing support for social initiatives and regional associations, e.g., the Braunschweig Women’s Shelter and “Päckchen für Braunschweig”
- Initiative for certification as a “Bicycle-Friendly Employer,” e.g., by creating additional secure bicycle parking spaces
- Review of our website with “Greentelligent” to identify potential for further optimization in terms of sustainability, e.g., loading times, accessibility
