Equality and diversity are issues that BREDEX takes seriously, and not just pay lip service to. By signing the Diversity Charter in 2018, we sent a clear signal that we are committed to a prejudice-free working environment and equal opportunities for our employees.
As part of our commitment, we not only ensure diversity in all areas of the company, but also in the charitable projects we support.
11 years of Onkel Emma – The queer center in Braunschweig
Eleven years ago, in November 2011, the Association for Sexual Emancipation (VSE e.V.) opened the queer center in Braunschweig. As an advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, the association is active in the region and offers a wide range of activities for the community.
Group events, counseling services, and lectures are among the offerings that the association provides for the LGBT community in the rooms of the former gay bar.
To make this possible, a large number of volunteers support the association and sponsors contribute financially to its maintenance. One of these main sponsors is the city of Braunschweig.
We at BREDEX are also doing our part to ensure that Onkel Emma can continue to exist and provide a meeting place for the queer community. In the summer, we joined the ranks of sponsors with a donation of €500. At the official photo shoot with Thea Lorbeer (chair of Onkel Emma) and Andreas Paruszewski (managing director of Onkel Emma), our managing director Andreas Vogel was able to personally thank the association once again for its work.
We hope that the association and the queer center Onkel Emma will continue to thrive for many years to come.
