"What is a good tester?" - come and find out at the ASQF meetup on 1st March! Our first ASQF event of 2012 is dedicated to testers - how to find them, how to train them and how to excel at being one.
On 1st March 2012 at 6pm, we'll be looking at this topic from two perspectives. We're pleased to welcome Michael Beier from our own team of testers to talk about soft skills that are useful for testers. After this introduction, Dr. Frank Simon from SQS will be presenting the certification available for testers via the ISTQB. As always, there will be time for discussion afterwards.

Register now for the first Eclipse meet-up (Stammtisch) of the year at BREDEX GmbH!

For this first Eclipse event of the year, we are pleased to welcome Manuel Bork from Yatta Solutions GmbH to talk about UML Lab. The evening begins on the 9th February at 7pm at the BREDEX offices. After the talk, we'll move to the Knochenhauer restaurant to continue the discussions started by the talk and to relax with some food and drink. |

Seminar and training dates for 2012 announced

The 2012 seminar program for BREDEX courses has been announced! Over the course of the year, BREDEX experts will be offering courses in software testing, design patterns, and various other development topics. There are also monthly tool training courses planned for GUIdancer and Jubula.

The Jubula team from BREDEX is pleased to be presenting a tutorial and a talk at Eclipse Con North America in 2012, held at the new location of Reston, Virginia.
The Jubula tutorial will be a three-hour hands-on introduction to working with the tool
that will give participants the chance to learn the basics of Jubula as well as some of the best practices associated with efficient automated testing.
As a part of the new Agile ALM track, there will also be a talk on Acceptance Test Driven Development and Continuous Regression Testing with Jubula to learn how Jubula fits into and supports agile processes and teams.

Eclipse birthday party at BREDEX draws thirty participants

On Tuesday the 15th November BREDEX welcomed over thirty guests to celebrate ten years of Eclipse with birthday cake and drinks.
As it turned out, Eclipse wasn’t the only birthday that could be celebrated this year.
Philipp Fischer from the DLR mentioned various "birthdays" in terms of space travel and the event was also the opportunity for BREDEX to present a round-up of Eclipse Con Europe and to mark their one-year anniversary of beginning the Eclipse Jubula project.

Nevertheless, the focus of the evening was very much on Eclipse - once the talks were over, everyone had the chance to enjoy the birthday cake with a glass of bubbly while getting to know the other participants and the speakers. The conversations continued over food and drinks in a local restaurant to end the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.
BREDEX and EclipseSource announce initiative to provide solution for automated AJAX application testing

BREDEX GmbH and EclipseSource are pleased to announce their collaboration in the field of automated testing for AJAX and RAP applications. Over the coming months, we will be combining our expertise in testing with EclipseSource's experience and know-how in web and desktop development to provide a solution for testing Rich Ajax Platform (RAP) applications with GUIdancer.

Meet the BREDEX team at Eclipse Con Europe, the Agile Testing Days, the Eurostar conference and at regional events during November!
Eclipse Con Europe
The newly named Eclipse Con Europe will take place from the 2nd to the 4th of November in Ludwigsburg. This is a great opportunity to meet members of the Jubula team at talks, tutorials and in the exhibition area. There will also be a Jubula Programming Competition.
Agile Testing Days
The Agile Testing Days begin this year on the 14th November in Potsdam. During the conference, you will have the opportunity to see an Introduction to Jubula.
Eurostar Conference
Manchester is the destination for the Eurostar conference in 2011. BREDEX is represented with a talk on functional test automation.
ASQF Meet-Up: Testing
The regional ASQF group for software testing will meet at BREDEX GmbH on the 24th November for an evening about Test Metrics.The event begins at 6pm.
Eclipse Get-Together
In celebration of Eclipse's 10th birthday, we will also be organizing a Braunschweig Eclipse Stammtisch in November The date and the topic will be announced shortly.
Software Engineering Circle on 6th October

On Thursday 6th October, the JUG Ostfalen is organizing a Software Engineering Circle in Hanover. The topic of the evening is "Java EE", and there will be talks about Java EE 6, Scala and Software Factory.
The event begins at 3.30pm and costs €60 / €40 for members of Hannover-IT and the JUG Ostfalen. More information about the event can be viewed on the Hannover-IT page.
GUIdancer 5.2 and Jubula 1.1 released

The latest versions of GUIdancer and Jubula are now available for download!
The new versions offer early warning for component recognition problems, improved refactoring options, as well as new options for starting and testing applications.
Testers using version 5.2 of GUIdancer can see the component recognition values for each test run in a new BIRT report for Object Mapping Quality. Using this information, testers can update their object maps proactively for components whose recognition state seems too close to the threshold.
Alongside this new warning system, there is also a new wizard to replace Test Cases(s) as well as a new embedded AUT Agent for simplified local testing.
